WikiTribune

Design lead

The news is broken and we can fix it.
WikiTribune is an ambitious news platform, launched by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales. In most news sites, the community tends to hang at the bottom of articles in comments that serve little purpose. Instead, WikiTribune aims to have professional journalists and community members working side by side as equals, and supported not primarily by advertisers, but by readers who care about good journalism enough to become monthly supporters.
WikiTribune shares Wikipedia’s philosophy and confidence in the idea that most people will act in good faith as stewards of informational environments.
My role was to lead the design of the project, working with a small team of developers, alongside the product owner, editor and founder.

Role Lead Designer: User Experience & User Interface. Initially on-site, then remote for 9 months.
